The National Sports Authority- Sierra Leone (NSA-SL) is Sierra Leone’s only sports agency, established by an Act of Parliament in 2017. The NSA became fully operational in 2019 following the appointment of board members by His Excellency Retired Brigadier Dr. Julius Maada Bio.

Our Mission

We take the lead to provide a legitimate and orderly avenue for the overall development in the Sports Sector, that will ensure good governance, effective management and efficient coordination of sports, clarity of roles, sporting excellence and mass participation for both the abled and disabled, in a gender balanced society that surmounts all political barriers.

Our Vision

The NSA vision is to ensure that, by 2030, Sierra Leone has a well-established sports governance system and is well-resourced to promote and develop sports as an industry, equipped with the requisite professional resources, both human and material. A system that will enhance nationwide and international competencies in promoting sporting excellence among youths and young adults, including the physical health and well-being of Sierra Leoneans.
